We are made up of three components: BODY, MIND & SOUL. Corresponding to these are three needs that must be satisfied for contented life:
the physical need is HEALTH;
the psychological need is KNOWLEDGE;
and the spiritual need is INNER PEACE.
When all three are present there is HARMONY.
Yoga means ‘union’ and will develop harmony.
On the physical level, it gives relief from countless ailments.
The practice of the Asanas (postures) strengthens the body and creates a feeling of well-being.
From the psychological viewpoint, Yoga sharpens the intellect and aids concentration.
It steadies the emotions and encourages a caring concern for others. Above all, it gives hope.
The practice of breathing techniques calms the mind.
There are many different types of cells in the body, with physical, physiological, emotional, intellectual and spiritual functions.
It is known that each cell has a life of its own. These cells are the pearls of life.
In the practice of Yoga every cell is consciously made to absorb a copious supply of fresh blood and life-giving energy.
Exercise tends to focus on achieving a goal, such as touching the toes ten times.
Yoga places much less emphasis on goals, rather it encourages students to finely tune the manner in which they move.
The extreme concentration, which such close observation requires, draws your attention inward, quieting and integrating mind and body.

Studio Covid-19 Protocol
Do not come to class if you are not feeling well.
Bring your own mat (and towel optional)
Street door will be unlocked 15 minutes before class.
Please wear mask in foyer and on stairs.
Not necessary to wear mask in class.
Do not proceed if someone is already on stairs.
Hand sanitizer 1st location inside studio.
Proceed swiftly to take off your shoes and hang your coat.
Place valuables on shelf.
Go inside studio and roll out your mat at allocated spot.
Wipes & hand sanitizer will be provided. Wipe down your mat at the beginning and end of class.
Use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of class to minimize the contamination of surfaces and props.
Your wooden props/chairs will be set out for you.
Dividers between mats are a reminder of your distancing.
Instructions will be delivered verbally & through demonstration. Physical cueing will be avoided.
After class exit must be one at a time.
No congregating please.
